Just driven past, road block at end of Went Avenue has been dragged out of the way and there's half a dozen caravans pulled up.

That could answer a question to something else.
Was going to post but could be relevant here.
Last night at about 11pm two individuals were up to no good. A white female about mid 30s speaking English with short dark hair accompanied with a young white female child were seen by some residents looking in gardens on St Thomas Road. They were last seen on Church view. A resident witnessed the pair at the garden gate. When asked by the owner what they were doing the reply was “we are just looking”.  The following reply was even stranger. The woman asked if she could have the bag. Only known to the owner was a black sports bag that was behind her bin. The only way to know it was there would have been to have been in the garden and looked. The resident replied just take it and go. The pair did so and left. The bag was thrown away at the end of the street and cleared by WMDC this morning. The bag was definitely not what the pair were looking for.
A strange couple at a strange time of night, lets hope it is a one off?
Thing that springs to mind is the good alibi of a child.

Thankfully for immediate locals they did go. Interesting is why they were moved/ agreed to leave. It appears that the travelers who had all ready been cocky with some residents had the tables turned. After the police explained the dangers of living on the Girnhill estate including regular arson attacks and no guarantees of safety the travelers quickly moved on. Must be the first positive the Girnhill estate has produced in 10 years.  Roll Eyes Grin

There back.
Roll Eyes If you had not noticed travelers are camped on the Stacks behind the old Lister Baths site.
The council was warned and notified to replace the £10 padlock that has been missing again for over a year.

What a lovely set of travelers this time……..
Story so Far………..
Residents are reporting in and out of vehicles day and night with very offensive verbal abuse.
Many shops reporting shop lifting. One stores staff have been threatened. Full trolley of goods casually taken from Fulton’s with 2 fingers and walked to the stacks in front of 3 cameras.
A immediate notice to quit has been posted today.
Where are the Cllrs and the £10 padlock?

The court date for the eviction will most likely be 5/9/2013.

What police?
The cctv in house and on the street caught the theft. That’s as accurate information as the police could view.
Given that the staff was female you have to put yourself in their shoes. Would you try and stop them if you were a 7 stone female?
People are scared to death of the travelers.
Yesterday was a cracker. Two gypsy kids went in to Fulton’s. At the back of the store they asked an old lady to pass down some toys from the top shelf. The old lady kindly obliged and followed the children to the till. The children walked out with out paying. The old lady had her say and shouted they are steeling. One guess if they were stopped?
It just gets better……… and perhaps an avenue for an immediate eviction?
If you have not been on the stacks you will probably not have considered the toilet arrangements. The wooded areas are the toilets. A man walking his dog was shocked when his animal immerged from the bush’s after rolling about in human muck.
A resident living near by was cutting his lawn. He could suddenly smell s**t. After looking about he found the smell was coming from him. Over his wall kids were throwing human s**t at him with a spade.
Probably not a single report either.

Latest notice states that a court hearing will take place on Friday……....
Who nose how long this will rule the travelers can stay?
Meanwhile if you have been on the stacks the stench is growing of rotting S**t, and lots more travelers are on their way from London. Should be a proper thieving camp site with in a week.
Don’t worry folks we will all pay for the clean up. Roll Eyes

Featherstone lower middle class 0, Featherstone middle upper class 1.
If you thought the rules to remove travelers applied the same to all, you have not lived in Featherstone.
So the story so far…………
Travelers move on to and live on the stacks for 3 ½ weeks before being forced off by legal powers.
They move on to Purston Park Sunday.
Travelers are forced off by legal means on Wednesday.
And the reason……..More significant complaints were received.
To add insult to injury the travelers have moved back on to the stacks today.
A WMDC statement suggests that they will be removed from the stacks by legal powers on Friday morning.
So travelers can be moved quickly especially if the area they camp at is a better off area.
Apparently a restricted access is to then be created on the stacks. Why not just call the police trespass?

Hat off to you Kim for having the balls to say that! I have to agree. Lips sealed
The police can use a lot less to arrest someone for inciting a riot, especially in Featherstone as the only place people have been shot for the same.
What an election leaflet statement:
“As Travelers have laws to protect only them should Common People be given the power of eviction against only travelers?”
