At about 11.35 am the male entered the shop and looked around. He then went to the counter to purchase a roll of bin bags at £1.50. He gave over a well used £5 note. He was passed the change for it £3.50. The male stated that he had given a £20.00 note. The system used for money in the shop leave all notes out until the transaction is finished and all till money clips down. The male was told no you gave me this £5.00 note. At this point he became angry and insisted he was correct. He was told he was wrong. He replied I have just got that £20.00 from the bank and have a receipt and would get it. He was answered that nothing could be done until the owner came back receipt or not. The male stated he would stay all day if he had to. He was asked for his cash point receipt. At that point he left the shop. In the opinion of the shop staff they at first thought the male was joking as it was so obviously wrong.
On its own this incident could be passed as a mistake until another shop keeper walked in to the shop. Her words were have you had anyone questioning change? Our shops reply before she finished was, and they said you have short changed them. How did we know that was asked? We have just had the same male. She runs a café down the road and the male had been in to her first. She had not seen him before nor had we. He went in and ordered a sandwich and said he would call back shortly while he went to another shop. When he came back he again gave a £5.00 note to pay and was given change. Again he replied that he had given a £10.00 note. He was informed that there were no £10.00 notes in the till. He replied, I said a £20.00 note. There was 2 staff listening to the conversation that backed up the incorrectness. His reply was keep the sandwich and took his £5.00 note and left the shop.
I believe he has probably tried many shops on his way to us and will check and update. My gut feeling is that he is on tour and coming to you shortly.
White Male, 21 years old approximately, dark short hair, dark long sleeve top and jeans, Dark trainers, Slim medium build, not a local accent but not far off.

Weve had in Streethouse the last 2 weeks a Ford Transit Pick-up, with a couple of blokes in going all around the village and streets, looking in gardens and drives, now there is a youngish male about mid twenties in a shirt and tie with a yellow jacket on knocking on peoples doors asking if they want any work doing, hes also got an Irish accent, obviously bloody gypsies, but you never know when these people have been looking around, What are they up to?

3 more shops have come forward today explaining the same male and a fraud attempt with a £5 note. I have also revived a message from Streethouse that they think he was there last week.

had this passed on. i know the vehicle from around the Girnhill Estate,
Last week a male about 16 or 17, I dont think hes local came around the streets in Streethouse and Sharlston dropping leaflets through letter box,s, advertising cutting trees and hedges down, and taking rubbish away, you know the type of thing. I never thought anything about it, I had a quick look and read a bit, what I can remember is that the address was Doncaster Road Wakefield. Anyway today between 12 noon and 1.30pm the same lad was in a sort of Pale Ford Transit Pick up with sides and a back on, reg no PN08 HGY along with two other youngish males, this time they had scrap metal on board.
It could just be me and they could genuine, there again, when you think about it, trees cut down, hedges trimmed, rubbish taken away, then a pick up with scrap on.

On Tuesday morning between 3am and 3.20am the window of Bob In hairdressers on station lane was smashed completely out and the premises ransacked. The lane had no pedestrians about at all but several cars did drive past. A black Lexus saloon drove past the scene at 3.17am and then reversed back to look more. It then drove away. The driver is asked to come forward. At 3.40am a male aged about 40 6ft 1 inch, short hair not shaven, jeans and a coat like a short carky style but in large, walked down the lane carrying a till in front of him. He turned right towards Wakefield. The till is still missing and probably dumped somewhere between the bottom of station lane and the area towards wakefield. If anyone spots the till please make contact with the police.
