Could I just mention and add my congratulations to North Featherstone AFC who on Sunday won the Sunday Premier League Championship against what seemed an impossible challenge. Two weeks ago they played against worthy opponents and won the Premier Football Sunday Cup, but while they were celebrating they got the news that their rivals for the Championship, Ferrybridge AFC had just won their last league game contrivertionaly 14 - 0 (apparently the opposition goalie only had one arm) which effectively put them well out of contention on a huge goal difference even if they could win both of their remaining games. They played and won a game last week scoring 8 goals which left them needing a 10 goal clear win in Sunday's last game against Thorpe Audlin. They won the match 14 - 3, scoring against a goalie who had two arms and apparently three decent legs.
The top four playoffs will now most likely mean that North Feath and Ferrybridge will meet in that final, that will decide the issue as to who is the top team. Arms and legs may be scattered but it will be a game well worth supporting. Will keep the forum posted as to if and when.
