The bulldog is the old RAF basic trainer. Still one hell of a machine to see and it can be equipped with guns and rockets if need be. You never know, they might even do a few aerobatic manoeuvres on the day.

i hope they do some special moves. by the sounds of it the red arrows because they cannot come on sunday are to fly over fev at 2pm on Monday. as they are a short hop away with a full tank of juice i am living in hope that we see something special. i have only seen 1 plane doing stunts and it was over Fev. it came from the nostel air show about 10 years back and did all sorts over the top of the rovers ground.

When you see all the attending brigades from all over the country in the parade marching down the street mmm think there will be a lump in a few throats and a few tears shred. Its been a long haul for the organisers of the project (you all know who i am talking about), well I for one applaude and praise his and their endurance and faith in his and their belief that this day would arrive. It will be a great day for the town, shame on those who tried to destroy a proud vetrons dream.(Once again you all know who I mean).

I will be there and will have a reet beamer on my face.  Grin Grin

I have been on site a couple of times this week and I am touched by the volunteers, public and commercial. The memorial is more than a memorial; it is something special and has a feel about it. I was surprised to see many people mainly elderly working hard. The place looks incredible.
It has got me to thinking about the memorials true meaning. These clips are a good reminder why,

If our ancestors had not have bothered we would now be following Hitler.

The opening day will be about remembering those who gave their lives to stop our country being taking over by fascism.

The official opening of the war memorial went very well, it was a very emotional affair that brought a lump to the throat, the sight of all the old soldiers wearing their medals with pride, was a sight to behold, a very well done to all the people who helped to make it a wonderful occasion, the atmosphere was electric Grin Grin

I didn't go to the opening, but I have managed to get that plane doing the fly over and rolls on camera. I will hopefully get the red arrows tomorrow (2:00PM is it?) and once edited (cos there is a lot of  Undecided shaky Undecided bits) I will put it on here  Smiley.
