Girnhill lane Featherstone shut from Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st 8am to 5pm. Sod the people and the business’s there. Girnhill stores will be blocked off as well as Lidle. Isn’t there supposed to be notice given?
Please tell us they have all the new pipes in before they resurface. People have been waiting years for this road to be repaired. You just know they are going to dig it up the week after.

New tarmac……….. Suppose we should grateful.  After a 4 day road closure about 30% of the road has been resurfaced (long tea breaks and Christmas shoping).
Now come on SOMEONE? After the Station lane re-surface disaster followed by North Featherstone re-surface now missing surely someone at WMDC would have at least checked the finished results. What is the problem with Featherstone roads apart from no one who can do something giving a dam.

Its been surprising that number 5 Girnhill Lane has lasted this long given the years of arson training that have taken place on the street. Remember when the 121st house fire on the same street presented to police was taken as shocking. As this is about the 131st house fire in 8 years with a police van parked in front and road closed it will actually be reported as arson?
As ASDA are the owners of the house I wonder what there view of Featherstone is now.

After the weeks of pumping concrete in to the ground and fitting drains building work looks ready to start.
Still not sure about the concrete used to stable the building land considering rafts had to be used the 1st time.

While up the Girnhill I met a few old faces. The gossip sounds like it’s been an interesting week up there. In front of the Strata show home cabin was laid some Astroturf. Looks like someone has taken a fancy to some and cut out and stolen a large patch of Astroturf.
More bricks have arrived along with BT lines and a new road laid in the middle of the old estate. Looks like a site office is set up and building is due to stat.
There appears also to have been a hit and run. Early in the week an un-known female driver knocked down a Girnhill resident and left them injured on the floor. Police have been asking for any information or whiteness.

Things are still busy up Girnhill Lane. The large wood barriers surrounding Lidle were trashed on Fri night/ Sat Morning. By Monday they had been attacked again?

Oh dear looks like a few minor amendments to far for some residents opposite the new houses with record numbers taking valuations in order to sell up. The final straw seems to have been most of the first houses apparently being sold to a housing company to rent out.
These are small houses. The parking is supposed to be in-between each house, Yeh if you ride a motorbike.
