Perhaps WMDC and the district council would like to comment on why after 3 years work the funding to open the Green Lane link road that was received in March this year was used to landscape the area instead of building the road (and please no bad weather excuses).
A simple question?

This would surely ease the traffic hold-ups at peak times.  Huh

I have to get in when I can. Banned one day and not the next - a ludicrous situation. However according to the council's newsletter the Green Lane Link is now in next year's budget. Truly a case of this year, next year, and maybe sometime, never.

There is a planning application in for the link. Can anyone tell me why No. 2 Green Lane in involved, and even more baffling why No. 33?

It would be interesting to see any plans of what one day is going to be built.
For a third time the start date has arrived and gone.
Rumor suggests that the road has not begun due to the scratching of heads where the water in the beck comes from. You would have thought this would have been looked at the beginning. Also worrying is a mention of traffic lights at Top House corner. How would that work?

So the link road gets opened to ease congestion...then more congestion is caused by putting traffic lights on top house corner  Huh

Oh dear the final plans look as bad as the rumors suggest.

Looks like a new set of queues that will also now be across the railway lines.
It must be a qualification not to be able to think!
Dont suppose our cllrs will be objecting? Sad

Does anyone actually care what is about to be disastrously created……….?
Probably not until the road work traffic jams are replaced by the traffic jams. To late then!

Rumor and gossip suggests that there is a mad rush by WMDC highways to alter the Green Lane junction. Grin

Sounds like the all powerful WMDC highways are at it again in Featherstone. Anyone would think there is an election and rush to impress…………… Oh yes there is, isn’t there.
So on top of 16 weeks of road works at Top House corner, Featherstone lane is to be re-surfaced at the same time.

I would presume the allotments will become more undesirable due to the flow of traffic and fall even further into a state of disrepair at which point the council will state nobody desires them any more and the land will be sold off to developers.
And before 'the land is protected brigade' start to comment so were a lot of other protected  sites of Featherstone

I think the council would find it hard to say no one desires them anymore....having spoken to the department in charge, there is a huge waiting list for them...as for them going further into disrepair.....not quite sure what is meant by that......on my last visit there several weeks ago they looked like any other allotments I have seen....better in fact than some.

Hurray the temporary lights have gone from Top House Corner. Evan better temporary lines have been painted to re-create the junction as it was. Guess what? Traffic is flowing nicely without any major ques. Why do we need traffic lights to spoil it? Sad

Oh dear looks like the traffic lights and pedestrian crossing are being fitted after all.
Rumour has it someone is trying to block James Dugan Avenue to short cutting traffic.  Why not sort out the problem causing the problem before it was a problem?
