The Featherstone War Memorial Committee has created a small pin badge that shows the St Thomas Road memorial. The badges are now on sale at a cost of £1. All proceeds will be used towards the restoration of the memorial.
You can purchase the badges from the committee members, Kay4Kuts and the Diy shop. Committee members will be around Featherstone over Christmas selling the badges.

I good idea and a nice little piece of Featherstone history.

An interesting development.

Featherstone Town Council apparently are to donate £1500 out of £3000 of tax payers money to do a quick tart up of the St Thomas Memorial.
It appears that the complaints made by the village idiot to the Featherstone War Memorial committee that it was structurally unsound have been forgotten. Perhaps because of the politics eh? Roll Eyes

Looks like there is a race on instead of something impressive like the memorial gardens? Grin

I have heard some awful information regards the conduct of the Featherstone Labour M.P. whilst stood at the memorial on Remembrance Sunday. Anyone heard any reports? Sad

Oh dear, oh dear, looks like it was correct then. During the minutes silence at the St Thomas War Memorial a Labour Party member couldn’t keep his mouth shut and was over heard by several people commenting that,

“The memorial was not straight. It should be called the leaning tower of Featherstone”.

Shame should be yours for none respect of the minutes silence never mind the insult. Who has before dishonored such an event?

If we are going to pick fault with straightness what about the Station Lane Christmas tree. I will lend you a spirit level if the budget will not stretch to it. After all the labour party has all ready skipped the insurance and PAT tests to save money? I will even donate new timers so the rest of the Christmas light stop on all at once.

Perhaps it was just all those nights not being able to lay straight in bed eh?
