There must be some serious money flying about...

http://www.pontefractandcastlefordexpress.co.uk/news/featherstone-by-pass-campaign-could-get-280k-boost-1-8683804

Apparently it took only 2 weeks to pass the grant. Its a shame any money the road will make for Featherstone will again vanish like the £3.5 million plus missing so far from the new housing. But hey who cares? Roll Eyes

Almost 2 years in and the Station Lane footpaths are nowhere near finished yet there is more plant machines on site than workers. Yorkshire Bank don’t sound to happy just as they close a sale on the old bank as someone has used a still saw to cut stone on their £8k front door and filled the building with dust. Must be a record for the slowest job in the UK? Meanwhile until the work is finished the other issues like Green bad parking are on hold. But hey who cares?

Looks like the link road / bypass from Linpac traffic lights to Ackworth is many steps on. A mixture of possible new HS2, phase 2 of the Girnhill Estate and Nostel priory compensation is going to bring about this road sooner than the plan that was taken out of the UDP years ago. It’s an interesting area of land for many reasons good and bad. At the end of the day a huge and full development of the area on an area of land steeped in history and peppered with bell pits and tunnels. Sadly the one thing for sure is Featherstone history will not be preserved in the new green belt building gold rush.

Two weeks in to the late start of trying to fix the paths on Station Lane and a whole can of worms has been opened. So far WMDC still continues to refuse to talk to any business on Station Lane regards issues of damage caused or land stolen.
Looks like WMDC have bulldozed a little too far this week. The Yorkshire stone strip of flags marking property boundaries has again been ripped up. But instead of taking away the stolen goods it appears WMDC have adopted a new policy. WMDC has donated the stolen Yorkshire stone flags to the local smack head community. Smack heads all week have been appearing with wheel barrows and taking the stone. It gets better as they are now trying to find a buyer and asking about how much it is worth. They have a few stock piles now in interesting places.
The local labour council who do not read this site will not be concerned about this nor the breach of recycling policy. Good job it’s easy to sort out with one simple freedom of information request for paperwork that obviously does not exist!

Had to comment on this report in the local rag titled
Shopkeeper made £500,000 by duping Home Office into allowing 188 migrants into UK illegally

 http://www.pontefractandcastlefordexpress.co.uk/news/crime/shopkeeper-made-500-000-by-duping-home-office-into-allowing-188-migrants-into-uk-illegally-1-8605964

See if you can follow my curiosity further. You may remember the Muslim refuge sign placed above the side door of this shop about 2012 that caused some chat. I believe this guy was busted with lots of police in 2013. That's 4 years on remand having an easy sentence as I see it and will be out soon. I don't see that in the press?

One further twist to really make you think. About 4 weeks ago the same property set on fire and was attended by police and fire services. The cause of fire should be asked as it probably was due to electrical extensions. These were serving the residents still on mattresses still on the floor and the mosque in the attic basically as it was in 2013.

Who will ask questions?

Still no immediate action I see apart from a little more information from locals. The same person sent down was searching Featherstone for a similar property and had tried to rent a similar size property at the top of Station Lane. Lets just say he did succeed what about that one? You don't have to look hard in Featherstone or any town to find a shop that appears to have no customers.

Its a year tomorrow since the majority of UK residents voted to leave the E.U.

Don't forget to let off a firework as a reminder to those who would betray us.

After 3 horrific attacks against innocent people in 3 months many UK residents now find themselves struggling not to use some form racism towards the terrorists.
Many agree there needs to be immediate and new action against this new threat. Many agree there needs to be more police but new powers and approach are also needed. Not just new but straight to the point.
Many people feel that politicians never listen to them anyway. With just days before an election people power has never been stronger to force politicians to offer action for a vote.
The question still remains “how”. Many suggestions are flying about like 100% closed boarders and sending people back to their own countries. More dramatic are suggestions that the associated Mosque of any terrorist should be taken down and replaced with a memorial garden or Church to remember the victims at the cost of the mosque owners in the hope that continued tolerance of a faith is allowed only if suspects are reported by mosque seniors. Whatever your thoughts this week is a good time to voice them as something has to change! Use your voice for the sake of the UK.

Over the weekend was just catching the latest news and viewed this video. The facts are the issue not the comments,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPygKbnhJOc

My interest was gained after watching this and the next video looked as appalling,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjgCwXDo4Ac

After viewing these 2 reports I had gained an opinion I felt needed to be put to paper. Very sadly before I put pen to paper the atrocity of Manchester happened and began unfolding. Words cannot express the grief I share for the victims of Manchester and am not ashamed to say I have cried more than once in the last day. Everyone, if they could, would try to help. After Lee Rigby then Westminster Bridge and now Manchester it is fair to say most common folk in the UK have been touched to their own extreme. This forum is titled “make a difference” and has shown many times how those few can do just that.

Considering this area is a Labour Party strong hold perhaps the surrounding districts that are also Labour could pull rank and begin a needed political reform as part as the fight against terrorism. Enough is enough.
