Most likely in the pit yard,my grandad used to do a bit of knuckle fighting in the early part of the 1900's ;D

I very much doubt it

the main boxing venue in Featherstone at the time this picture was taken was the yard of the Railway hotel.
I suspect this picture wasn't taken in Featherstone

Bumped in to a lovely lady today who has seen this boxing picture. Her first thoughts were that it was Regent Street Market Square. She had seen the boxing ring as a child. Never knew there was a market at Regent Street. Apparently it was fairly big.

I know a small market was held in oxford street-that's the short street alongside the Central club(membership number 1214). The British Union of Fascists held their meetings there as well

If a market was held in regent street,it must have been in the school playground because theres nowhere else a market could have been held,i think oxford street would be more realistic, right next to regent street too, could the lady have been a little bit confused. ;D
