As we have a litter issue in Featherstone, i was wondering who people on here thought was the main problem.

I'm sorry to say it but it all starts from home, parents need to teach children about littering. How often do you see adults drop tab ends everywhere, and most people throw things out of the car windows!
Even if you report incidents the authority is not intersted, how about the the district councillors getting some more bins around Featherstone and more frequent collection?
What makes me laugh at North Fev is, during the school term we don't get  the bins emptied but soon as it's school holidays the bin is being emptied nearly every day!
I have to ring the wakefield call centre to have a public bin emptied ( as if I've haven't got much else to do) and what made me laugh more is they sent a bin officer who came to inform me that as a responsible retailor I should be telling my customers how to recycle? ???

Not sure I agree altogether San I have seen many times people both young and old leaving a shop, take away, and consume what they have had and just throw both the empty tins/bottles on the floor along with the wrappers and packaging from their food and this has been when there is a large bin outside the shop they have been in, people just dont seem to care anymore and rely on others to clean up their mess, same with the increase on fly tipping its never been as bad, beds, carpets, black bins bags all over the place, even saw an old 3 piece suite dumped near the football field last week.

Instead of paying the unemployed ‘don’t want a job' people to stop in there council houses drinking larger and watching sky etc all day turn their benefits into a minimum wage and make them work cleaning the litter, simple, if people had to pick up their own litter they wouldn’t drop it in the first place.

Didn’t **** Taylor say he would sort out the litter problem if he was elected ? Or have I dreamt it ?

Anyone who has by chance been stood around in Station Lane over the few years will have noticed the road sweeper.
It should be so easy to use, shouldn’t it it?
The driver appears glued to his seat. Quite often that last toffee paper is chased to the edge of shop fronts resulting in damage to property.
Today was the extreme as two of One Stops shutters were ripped down. Didn’t think knocking the Gospel Hall wall and gates down could be beaten. I was wrong.
