Title: Featherstone Rovers renames ground the Bigfellas Stadium
Post by: Kim685 on January 04, 2010, 11:40:35 am
FEATHERSTONE Rovers’ chiefs have turned the dial from top radio host Chris Moyles to rename the club after Pontefract nightspot Bigfellas.
Rugby bosses announced the switch to the ground’s name – formerly The Chris Moyles Stadium – at the weekend after Bigfellas and its owner Tony Lumb became the team’s new sponsor for the next two years.
Club chief executive Andy Prout said: “I’m absolutely delighted Tony Lumb and Bigfellas are now sponsoring the stadium in a deal which will be invaluable to the club.
“We’re deeply grateful to Chris Moyles for allowing us to use his name for the last three years, which undoubtedly lead in 2007 and 2008 to Featherstone Rovers being the most talked about RL club nationally."
